Dwarves and Fortresses
Mithia is a land with many gods. Hundreds, at least. Each one governs some small aspect of the world, and the majority take little interest in the affairs of mortals. Those gods are acknowledged by most religious traditions, but seldom paid much reverence, which tends to be quite all right with them. They have plenty to be getting on with.
But not all of the gods are so disinterested. Some gods feel obliged to watch over a particular mortal race, and are worshiped in return. The dwarves honor the pantheon of Stone, Steel and Silver, forever indebted to them for guiding the First Dwarf to build the First Fortress. Dwarven clerics can draw their magic from any of these gods, or all three. Stone concerns itself with mountains, rocks, and dirt, unsurprisingly, and grants his clerics spells in the domains of Earth and Protection. Steel is the god of the war-metals: bronze, iron, steel, adamantine, and other hard and durable ores. Its domains are Strength and War. Silver, on the other hand, is the god of the metals of trade and magic: copper, silver, gold, platinum, and other metals that have great worth or use to enchanters. Its domains are Healing and Luck.
